Description
Winter was starting in Muskoka Ontario, and the ice on Lake Rosseau was beginning to form. The narrow waterway between the Indian River and Lake Rosseau in the village of Port Carling is known as the Canoe Cut. The black and white photograph was taken from the bridge over the Cut looking out toward the lake.

the black and white photo give this an extra sense of cold well thought out

I would love to see this in color!
Andrew Wilson replied:
Thank you, Pat. I'd like to get a shot from the same vantage point in the summer in colour.

In addition to the banner, I am adding this more permanent recognition of its FEATURE on the homepage of A TREE OR TREES IN BLACK AND WHITE. I try mightily to feature only images that would be at home in a juried competition. No doubt that this image fits that bill. CONGRATULATIONS! And consider adding your image to DISCUSSIONS "Please post your featured photograph here" for greater, long-lasting visibility.

Lovely winter patterns and layers which the monochrome conversion emphasizes nicely.
