Description
A major ice storm just before Christmas in 2013 paralyzed much of the greater Toronto area. The image was taken on Frenchman's Bay in Pickering, Ontario. Though this image shows the beauty of the ice-covered trees and grasses, at the time the beauty was often difficult to appreciate.
The storm actually swept through the U.S. midwest, and the provinces of Ontario and Quebec leaving an estimated half million people without power! Emergency crews spent long hours up to and over Christmas getting the lights back on.
