Description
The harbour in Penzance on the south Cornwall coast of England looked incredibly peaceful as I strolled by early one morning. The water was like a mirror, reflecting the boats and buildings along the docks.
Penzance was the setting for Gilbert & Sullivan's famous late 19th century comic opera, "The Pirates of Penzance". In fact, in the late 18th century, Barbary pirates raided the town of Penzance, seizing many people who were taken to North Africa as slaves.
