Description
A tranquil lake mirrors the sky and surrounding greenery, with water lilies dotting the surface near the center. On the left, a historic building overlooks the water, further enhancing the picturesque quality of the scene.
The image was captured at the Millcroft Inn and Spa in the town of Alton Ontario. It is a wonderful spot for a weekend getaway. It originally was a knitting mill, opened in 1881, and it continued to function as a mill until 1965. Several years after this the old mill was transformed into what is now a four diamond country inn and spa.

Lovely spot and the old Knitting Mill looks like a castle. Wonderful reflections.

You are so fortunate to see these beautiful spots, and I love when you show them here. That way I get to see beauty instead of construction and masses of humanity in Toronto.
Andrew Wilson replied:
Thank you, Sabina. Lots of beauty in Toronto too...perhaps not so much in the cacophony of downtown construction :)

I like the many layers in this quiet little scene - from the foreground grasses and reeds to the water and plants that grow in and float on its surface, to the larger trees and the glimpse of the building in the background. The sky and its reflection pulls the entire scene together very nicely.
