Description
One of the zebras in this herd on the Serengeti in Tanzania was having a dust bath as we came upon them. Zebras (and other animals) may use dust baths as a means of ridding themselves of parasites.
The image is also a good example of one of the zebras' protections from predators. If one looks into the middle of the herd it is difficult to tell where one zebra stops and another starts. This can lead to attack errors by predators.

Andrew, I have seen this great photo before but after reading your comment on one of my digital art pieces, which made me laugh, I wanted to see this image again because it is just plain wonderful and makes me smile. L/F/Tw

Images like this, captured with the animals as they are in the wild, that's just beautiful.
