The Wenonah II is heading out to Lake Muskoka from the town of Gravenhurst, Ontario. In the image, she is passing through The Narrows between Muskoka Bay and Lake Muskoka proper. The Wenonah does excursions primarily on Lake Muskoka, though sometimes can be seen on Lake Rosseau or Lake Joseph.
She is a modern vessel, built in the style of the Muskoka steamboats of the early 1900s. However, she is not steam driven, unlike her sister ship, the Segwun. The Segwun is the oldest steam powered vessel still sailing in all of North America. The Wenonah II was launched in 2002 and she and the Segwun run popular excursions on the Muskoka Lakes. Wenonah II was named after the first steamship to sail on Lake Muskoka beginning in 1866.

My main photography interests are landscapes and wildlife and my camera is never far from me. I live in Muskoka, the heart of Ontario's 'cottage country' and this provides endless photo opportunities. When I travel, I love to capture my away experiences on camera and bring them home with me.

A beautiful photograph, Andrew! When boating in Canada, I have always been impressed with the skill of these captains who pilot these large crafts through narrow and rocky waterways. They make it look easy and I am sure it is not. A beautiful shot! L/F
